What is PADI?
PADI is the Diving Organization ,that grants diving certifications and its acronym stands for Professional Association of Diving Instructors.
I've always wanted to learn to scuba dive (or snorkel). How do I get started?
Diving or snorkeling is very easy. This website describes the different activities in detail. Finally, if we haven't answered your questions, please contact us.
How old do you have to be to get a diving certification?
PADI requires that you be at least 10 years old to become a certified PADI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver. Those aged 10 and 11 must dive with their parent, certified guardian, or PADI professional to a maximum depth of 12 meters/36 feet. Those aged 12 to 14 must dive with a certified adult. Those aged 15 and older can take the Open Water Diver certification. The age requirements for each PADI diving course or program are detailed on this website.
Why do I have to get certified to dive?
Certification by a PADI Instructor teaches you the basics of diving so you can practice your diving activity safely and comfortably. Your PADI diving certification card is proof that you have successfully completed the diving course. Without a PADI diving certification, you will not be able to dive at any dive center. If you do not have a PADI diving card (for any reason), any PADI dive center can verify that you are a PADI-certified diver.
How long will I be a qualified diver?
Your PADI diving certification does not expire. It is highly recommended that you maintain practice. PADI recommends taking a scuba review if you haven't dived in six months, and up to two years. You can take this refresher class with us
